You can’t say that you didn’t see it coming…
We had a Republican General Assembly in Arkansas for the first time since Reconstruction, and what did it get us? The “Private Option.” We knew it wasn’t enough to vote for Republicans – we have to vote for the right candidates.
I have been a member of Secure Arkansas since 2009 and Grant/Jefferson County Coordinator since 2010. I collected over 300 petition signatures for the proposed Constitutional Amendment to require DHS workers to ask about citizenship status. I also collected almost as many signatures on the Private Option referendum last summer as well as taking the White River Blueway Resolution to the Saline County Quorum Court, which was passed. I participated in the first national Tea Party meeting for Little Rock at the Capitol on April 15, 2009. I was a co-founder of the 1st Arkansas Liberty Summit in 2012 that is now in it’s 3rd year as a Young Americans for Liberty Conference.
BUT IT’S NOT ENOUGH TO BE AN ACTIVIST!
I know you are tired of fighting the good fight only to come up empty-handed most of the time. I know I am! But what will we tell our kids and grandkids when they ask us what we did to stop the loss of economic, religious, and personal freedoms? That we fought “the good fight” but in the end, we gave up? I’m not ready to give up, and I hope that you aren’t either. The Grant County Quorum Court was presented with the Blueway Resolution around the same time as I presented it to Saline County, and THEY DIDN’T EVEN CONSIDER IT. Grant County’s Quorum Court has 9 Democrats out of 9 positions.
Let me help you stick it to the big-government lovers more effectively than any other way. Arkansas’ Income Tax law allows for an Arkansas filer to take a $50 credit (that’s right, a CREDIT – not a deduction) for any contribution to “A candidate seeking nomination or election to a public office or to the candidate’s campaign committee… For the purposes of this credit, ‘public office’ means any office created by or under the authority of the laws of the State of Arkansas, or subdivision thereof, that is filled by the voters.” (italics added). This includes Justice of the Peace candidacy.
The best part of this credit is that you can claim it NOW (until April 15th) and still apply it to your 2013 Tax Return! (See Instructions for AR1000TC). This is money that you will otherwise pay to the State which you can use instead to combat RINO Republicans and liberal Democrats. Believe me, the establishment knows me… and they do not like me.
