There will be a hearing this Weds, Dec. 14, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Arkansas Real Estate Commission (612 South Summit St., Little Rock) regarding the placement and display of the Ten Commandments monument on the grounds of the Arkansas State Capitol.
The monument has already been constructed, and we want it displayed where people will see it! Many people and pastors in Arkansas are concerned about the delay about where the monument will be displayed. The bill was passed as Act 1231 in April of 2015, almost 2 years ago, and it’s in Secretary of State Mark Martin’s hands now.
We need your help in moving the placement of the monument along.
Click this link to download the PDF of the petition. Then enter your name and address in the boxes at the bottom left of that petition page, and then click the link below that to download it. It will be downloaded to your computer’s “Downloads” file, and you’ll want to compose an email to Secretary of State Mark Martin, so click here: arsos@sos.arkansas.gov (a sample of what you may want to include in the body of your email is: “Attached is my petition in support of the Ten Commandments monument display Act 1231 that was passed in April 2015.”), and then attach that PDF file to your email to him. The filename is set as “10-commandments-petition.pdf” so you can find it easily in your Downloads file.
Bring this to your churches and talk to your church family and pastors about it — tonight if it’s not too late!
We need to stand up for the Ten Commandments to be displayed in front of the Arkansas Capitol! The monument doesn’t need to be hidden in some obtuse place on the Capitol grounds where the public won’t see it!
Let us know if you get any response from the Secretary of State’s office, and reply to this email if you have any questions.
