UPDATE! Here’s a special note about what’s going on at the Arkansas Capitol!
Just a few days ago, Senator Jake Files from Fort Smith met with Senate Majority Leader Senator Jim Hendren from Gravette and said he would not resign unless he is indicted by the Grand Jury. How much more evidence has to come in before something is done? How long will this little “clique” get to operate?
You may want to read our previous article about Senator Files.
Who’s involved in all of this mess, anyway? Better read on…
SW Times Record reporting on Senator Jake Files and the $8o,000 wire transfer:
“David L. Norsworthy of Arkansas Superior Select wired $80,000 to FFH Construction on Nov. 24, 2014, according to a First National Bank document not labeled confidential and recently provided to the Times Record. The document was part of discovery in a local lawsuit against FFH Construction.”
Also, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is investigating Fort Smith Senator Jake Files for possible wire fraud and money laundering, according to a warrant affidavit that the investigators served.
The following information came from the Arkansas Secretary of State website that shows David L. Norsworthy as Registered Agent:

David L. Norsworthy was appointed by Governor Asa Hutchinson on February 16, 2015 to the Health Services Permit Agency Commission, and that appointment expires on April 9, 2018. Norsworthy had an ethics violation in that he did not file a Statement of Financial Interest (SFI) with the Arkansas Secretary of State office for the Year 2014. The Statement of Financial Interest (SFI) must be filed with the Secretary of State office within 30 days of the appointment.
David Norsworthy is also a Political Action Committee (PAC) officer of Arkansas Health Care Public Affairs PAC.

Here’s another snippet from the SW Times Record article and the $80,000 wire transfer:
“Norsworthy is part-owner in over a dozen nursing homes in Arkansas with Michael Morton, a Fort Smith businessman with ties to former central Arkansas circuit judge Michael Maggio. Maggio had reduced a judgment against Greenbrier Nursing and Rehabilitation Center from $5.2 million to $1 million after its owner, Morton, donated about $24,000 to Maggio’s campaign. Morton was not charged with a crime.”
Ex-judge Michael Maggio was sentenced to 10 years in prison March 2016, the maximum possible sentence for reducing a jury award in exchange for a bribe.
You’ll recall that Secure Arkansas has written several past articles about these corrupt politicians and businessmen in the past. Here’s one from 2014 entitled “Politicians For Sale?” that mentions Michael Morton, Arkansas Supreme Court Judge Michael Maggio, and Arkansas Senator Gilbert Baker.
In closing, we want to say that with all the bribes and unethical activity going on during the 2017 legislative session, it’s hard to ever “get the ear” of the legislators anymore. We think that many of them have become so brazen that they feel untouchable.
And don’t forget all the underhanded legislation that was proposed regarding the Freedom of Information Act (FOIAs) this year. It looks like the sneaky legislators who sponsored it were trying to cover up our valuable sunshine laws in Arkansas. The Arkansas Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) is one of the greatest pieces of legislation that has ever been introduced to the public! Arkansas’ Sunshine Law is one of the best in the country… but some dishonorable legislators want to block our access to information. Click here to read one of our previous articles regarding Arkansas Senator Bart Hester’s anti-freedom, anti-FOIA legislation which unfortunately was supported and promoted by Arkansas Representative Bob Ballinger.
Why the desire to BLOCK information from the public? What’s their motive?
Where is the transparency in government?
Where are the men and women of conviction and integrity in public office?
Once again, dear reader, our government IS being shaken from within…
Stay tuned!
