Arizona’s Con-Con Bill Set for Committee Vote

Arizona needs some help in trying to stop the Arizona’s Con-Con Vote. SCR1005 bill is set for a Committee Vote on Wednesday, March 20. Please help Arizona and send emails and call the numbers below.
SCR1005, is a resolution applying to the Congress of the United States to call a convention for proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to provide that an increase in the federal debt requires approval from a majority of the legislatures of the separate states.
SCR1005 HAS PASSED THE SENATE 16-14 AND IS SCHEDULED FOR A VOTE IN THE APPROPRIATIONS COMMITTEE ON WEDNESDAY.
For the past 225 years we have amended the Constitution without a convention. We don’t need to start now. It’s not worth the risk.
Please call as many on the House Appropriations Committee as you can tomorrow. You can find their contact information here. Call the Chairman first (his name isn’t on the committee list for some reason).

Message for Chairman Kavanagh: Please stop forward action on SCR1005. It is dangerous and puts us in risk of losing our Constitution. Article V of the Constitution does not provide any way to limit an “amendments convention.”
Message for the others on the Appropriations Committee: If SCR1005, the call for a Constitutional Convention, comes to a vote, please vote NO. Do not put our Constitution at risk by asking Congress to “call a Convention for the purpose of proposing amendments.” Article V of the Constitution does not provide any way to limit an “amendments convention.”
