Ask Your Senators in the Public Health Committee to Vote YEA on HB1355

HB1355 (An Act To Provide Local Control Over Fluoride Levels In Water Systems) comes back up in the Senate Public Health, Welfare, and Labor Committee on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 10:00 a.m!

March 9 was the LAST day to file a bill for this legislative session, the 90th General Assembly, so no more bills can be filed, and we must support this bill!  As of 2:00 pm yesterday afternoon, 136 bills had been filed that day… yet there was NO mention of fluoride, other than HB1355.

Please start calling the Senate Public Health, Welfare, and Labor Committee members and ask them to support HB1355 and to vote YEA when the bill comes up.  There are only 8 people to call, and their contact information shown is below.  We will need 5 votes to get it out of committee and sent to the Senate floor.

Senators, it is in your ballpark now. Let’s not disappoint the people.  We must get back to local control.  Remember: this bill simply allows the addition of fluoride into our public drinking water systems to be controlled LOCALLY.

Secure Arkansas held a live online Fluoride Forum last week in which Dr. Paul Connett and Dr. Bill Hirzy (the world’s leading experts on water fluoridation) presented their factual evidence regarding the dangers of water fluoridation.  Dr. Howard Pollick (a dentist from California) debated with them.  Secure Arkansas supports Dr. Paul Connett and Dr. Bill Hirzy, but we disagree with Dr. Pollick’s views.  However, we appreciate all 3 of them for appearing on our recent broadcast.

315143854_red-heart-hi.png  Dr. Paul Connett is a graduate of Cambridge University and holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Dartmouth College.  After teaching chemistry and toxicology for 23 years at St. Lawrence University, Canton, NY, he retired from his full professorship.  After this, he helped to found the Fluoride Action Network (FAN) where he is the Executive Director.  He also became director of the American Environmental Health Studies Project (AEHSP).

Dr. Connett wrote the book “The Zero Waste Solution”.  He also coauthored “The Case against Fluoride: How Hazardous Waste Ended Up in Our Drinking Water and the Bad Science and Powerful Politics That Keep It There” along with Dr. James Beck and Dr. H. Spedding Micklem in 2010.

315143854_red-heart-hi.png  Dr. William (Bill) Hirzy is a former Senior Vice-President of the Union for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).  He has a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Missouri.  He has been involved in environmental and human health risk assessment for 36 years in the chemical industry, then at EPA HQ as senior risk assessment scientist.  Since 1986 at EPA as a union officer, he has studied and followed the developing science on fluoride toxicity.

758468793_sad-face-clipart.jpg  Dr. Howard Pollick, a pro-fluoride advocate, Clinical Professor at UCSF School of Dentistry in California, and spokesman for the American Dental Association, debated with these esteemed doctors and presented his views supporting fluoride, but in this video, he actually admitted that fluoridated tap water mixed with powdered infant formula will overdose babies! Towards the end of the video, Dr. Pollick said, “So, when using an infant formula that needs to be diluted, we’re recommending using distilled water… that is available at… stores.”

The interviewer asked him more about that particular water: “So, you recommend that it has no chemicals in it?”
Dr. Pollick answered, “That’s correct.”

Once again, Senators… Fluoride is NOT safe and effective for everyone!…especially our little ones!   This bill deserves a vote on the Senate Floor, not just a committee of 8.

Fluoridated water is dangerous; the fluoride accumulates in our bodies and can cause damage over time.  It negatively affects the thyroid, brain, kidneys, bones, and many other organs.

If this bill fails to pass, any Arkansas municipality with 5,000 or more residents will be FORCED to fluoridate their water under ACT 197 (a state-sanctioned fluoride mandate)!  This includes HOT SPRINGS, ARKANSAS, and their healing, pristine water!  People drive from miles around just to drink and bathe in that mineral-rich, world renowned, UNFLUORIDATED water, and they bring empty jugs to fill with water to take home.  EUREKA SPRINGS is known for their wonderful water, too.  Do you want it to be poisoned with chemicals???  It won’t be “pharmaceutical grade” fluoride – most likely it will be hydrofluorosilicic acid or another form of fluoride that’s toxic waste from the phosphate fertilizer industry!  What a travesty!  This is a sin against nature and mankind!  Act 197 is a state-sanctioned mandate, and we believe it’s DELIBERATELY causing harm and inflicting physical injury to Arkansans.  And since when are legislators and dentists allowed to prescribe drugs and dose the general public?

Senators on this committee:  please admit this article to the legislative record as testimony from Secure Arkansas “for the bill” (HB1355) in the Senate Public Health, Welfare, and Labor Committee on Wednesday, March 11, 2015.

STOP and DO NO HARM!

Water operators, sadly, if this bill fails to pass, you know the consequences all too well, and you’ll have some decisions to make, knowing the facts and dangers of water fluoridation.  People will be crying out NOT to have their water poisoned.
