HHS Makes Small Gesture to Lower Fluoride Levels… but It’s Not Enough!

April 27, 2015 Fluoridation

The U.S. FINALLY updated its water fluoridation guideline for the first time in 53 years.  According to a press release from today, April 27, 2015:

“The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services [HHS] today released the final Public Health Service (PHS) recommendation for the optimal fluoride level in drinking water to prevent tooth decay. The new recommendation is for a single level of 0.7 milligrams of fluoride per liter of water. It updates and replaces the previous recommended range (0.7 to 1.2 milligrams per liter) issued in 1962.”

Flash back 4 years from 2015…

Here’s a snippet from a CNN article dated January 7th, 2011:

“(CNN) — The federal government is recommending changing the amount of fluoride in drinking water for the first time in 50 years.
The Department of Health and Human Services and Environmental Protection Agency are proposing the change because of an increase in fluorosis — a condition that causes spotting and streaking on children’s teeth.
The recommendations have been submitted to the Federal Register for a 30-day public comment period. The final version is expected this spring.”

However, the final version never came in the summer of 2011. Several years later we wonder, why did it take HHS over 4 years to get around to making this recommendation official?

This NBC News video from January 2011 shows Brian Williams interviewing their Chief Medical Editor, Dr. Nancy Snyderman, about health concerns associated with too much fluoride.

Secure Arkansas wants to remind you that in February 2011, the Arkansas Legislature mandated water fluoridation (a must-read article) to populations of 5,000 or more.

Could this announcement be coming on the heels of two recently released  studies because proponents of water fluoridation might be trying to turn our attention away from the current research? One study is mentioned in this Newsweek article explaining that water fluoridation may increase the risk of underactive thyroid disorder (hypothyroidism). Another study, the first one ever to examine the relationship between exposure to fluoridated water and ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) prevalence, was released around the same time.  This means that our children and grandchildren could be harmed by fluoride.  We posted an article entitled ‘Children Being Brain-damaged by Fluoride!’ back in February of this year.

With all of the current concerns coming out about water fluoridation, we turn our attention to the Arkansas State of Board of Health. Their duty is to protect the health of the entire state. Do you know any of the board members listed below?  If you do, please write to us and inform us about them. What will it take to get their attention so they will actually investigate all of the current findings, independently, without outside opinions and interference? We don’t believe they should be parroting the opinions of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) or the HHS, and they definitely shouldn’t be following what the American Dental Association (ADA) or Delta Dental has to say because those groups have a monetary interest. Board members should have been put on that board to think for themselves.

Heads up, board members!  We’re calling on you to prove to us that water fluoridation is safe and effective for EVERYONE at ALL levels of consumption.  It’s important to look at this issue seriously, especially because it involves state-sanctioned medication of the general populace through the public water supply with no actual ‘dose’ consideration!

We’re posting this YouTube video again so you can see the INACTION of the Arkansas State Board of Health.  There was NO mention of looking into the information presented by Eureka Springs Alderman David Mitchell.
