Early voting begins Tuesday for the North Little Rock City Council’s vacant seat (election set for March 8). This is a rare opportunity for a chance to influence NLR city government from the 2010 election cycle. There’s a lot going on in NLR City government and downtown NLR that is affecting Central Arkansas.

Here are the three candidates:
* John Parker
* Jimmy Phillips
* Bruce Foutch
Phillips was appointed to the council by Mayor Hays a year or two back to fill a vacancy, but we have no information about his voting record. We understand that he was appointed to the council after a vacancy in a process that was questionable (the candidates that stepped up during the actual public process were all turned down). Parker was also on the council at one time by election.
Is there anyone in the NLR area who can reach out to these candidates and check which one of them (if any) is a true conservative and worth backing? If we can find a candidate who holds to the principles of the founders, maybe we can do some calls or door-to-door or sign holding for him. In the event you are able to find such a person, please contact us.
Thank you.
