Two Article V Bills in Committees for Mar. 30th – Vote NO on HJR1001 and HJR1003

March 30, 2015 Action Alerts, Constitutional Convention

Print This Article

Arkansans! There are two bills that involve an Article V Convention that come before committees tomorrow morning (Monday, March 30, 2015).

HJR1001 is in the House Committee on State Agencies and Government Affairs.

HJR1003 is in the Senate Committee on State Agencies and Government Affairs.

Legislators, please VOTE NO on HJR1001 and HJR1003, and click on the following link to see why a Convention of States is so dangerous and that the states have no way of controlling an Article V Convention of States.

HJR1001  AN APPLICATION BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY UNDER ARTICLE V OF THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION FOR A CONVENTION FOR PROPOSING AMENDMENTS

(This bill comes up in the Arkansas HOUSE Committee on State Agencies and Governmental Affairs in Room 151 on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 11:00 a.m!  This bill must DIE in Committee!  This bill hasn’t seen any activity since January 12 of this year.) For the status of HJR1001, click here.

HJR1003 AN APPLICATION FOR A CONVENTION OF THE STATES UNDER ARTICLE V OF THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES.  (This bill failed of adoption in the House on March 3, 2015.  This bill also comes up Monday, March 30, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. and will be in the Arkansas SENATE Committee on State Agencies and Governmental Affairs in the Old Supreme Court Room.)

The Convention of the States (COS) is an Article V Constitutional Convention (Con-Con) supported and funded by the elitists.

This is a dangerous situation where both the Left and the Right are pushing for a Constitutional Convention. There is more at stake than a possible runaway convention and that either the Right or the Left might win.  Keep reading to find out what’s going on!  The paragraph above the legislator contact information (at the bottom) has a link to one of our previous emails with some interesting facts.

Once again, the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) is behind another attempt to call an Article V Amendment Convention of States across America.

Article V of the Constitution does not provide any language to limit an “Amendment Convention” or its power.  There are no rules, or restrictions or instructions in Article V.   Rob Natelson, who wrote the ALEC Handbook, knows that.  He admitted on page 2 of his book, “Amending the Constitution by Convention,” that:

“of course, abuses of the Article V amendment processes are possible!”

The Constitutional Convention, or Con-Con, that’s being sold to the legislators is a lie and must die in committee.  At least three White House advisers and officials, including President Obama’s regulatory czar, Cass Sunstein, have ties to an effort funded by billionaire George Soros to push for a new “progressive” U.S. Constitution by the year 2020.  Don’t fall for the lies of the elitists.  Say NO to a Con-Con — or whatever they choose to call it.

Legislators: George Soros seems to be attempting to implement a “One World” Socialist Government. Do you really want to be part of this? To see the organizations that are directly funded by George Soros, click here.

The Con-Con is being introduced in various forms, and they are as follows:

  1. National Debt

  2. Constitutional Convention (Old and Outdated)

  3. Balanced Budget

  4. Article V Amendment Convention

  5. Compact for America

  6. National Debt Reduction Act (NDRA)

  7. Mark Levin’s book, The Liberty Amendments (Article V Amendment Convention)

  8. Convention of States (COS)

The groups pushing for a Constitutional Convention (Con-Con) are as follows:

  1. American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC)

  2. 10 Amendments for Freedom, Inc, chaired by William Fruth, President of POLICOM Corporation

  3. Americans for Prosperity

  4. Council on Foreign Relations (CFR)

  5. Goldwater Institute

  6. Trilateral Commission (TC)

  7. Tea Party Patriots (TPP), funded by Freedom Partners and Center to Protect Patient Rights

  8. Career elitist politicians from both the Republican and Democratic parties

  9. Mark Levin – Sponsored by Americans for Prosperity

  10. Citizens for Self-Governance (CSG)-  Michael P. Farris, Senior Fellow for Constitutional Studies, Head of Convention of the States (COS) Project (connected to Grover G.Norquist, a CFR member.  This is the latest organization that’s shown an elitist goal to destroy our U.S. Constitution via a Con-Con.

  11. American Constitution Society (ACS).  ACS is the main organization behind the Con-Con movement to ensure a more “progressive” constitution, having received more than $2,201,500 from Soros’ Open Society since 2002.  The funders for ACS are the Barbra Streisand Foundation, the Sandler Foundation, and George Soros’ Open Society Foundations.

Click here to learn more about Constitution 2020, including ties to George Soros, Cass Sunstein, and Eric Holder, and details about the American Constitution Society.  And here is a link to the Constitution 2020 website.
We are NOT including these two links to promote them; this is just for your information.  Secure Arkansas does not support Constitution 2020, and we do NOT believe that our U.S. Constitution needs to be rewritten!

See which White House officials are involved in rewriting our nation’s founding document by clicking here.

Excerpt:  “WND has learned that in April 2005, Sunstein opened up a conference at Yale Law School entitled “The Constitution in 2020” which sought to change the nature and interpretation of the Constitution by that year.”

Are you aware there is a new Proposed Constitution model for The NewStates of America, and there could be another one being pushed by Constitution 2020, a George Soros group?

Many of the organizations listed below are connected through think tanks and the State Policy Network all pushing for a Constitutional Convention (Con-Con).

  • American Constitution Society (ACS) – Eric H Holder, Jr. is a board member, Janet Reno is a Board of Advisor member, and ACS is funded by George Soros’ Open Society Foundations, Barbra Streisand Foundation, and Sandler Foundation.

  • Americans for Limited Government

  • Americans for Prosperity – Funded by the Koch Brothers

  • Americans for Tax Reform

  • American Conservative Union

  • American Society of Competitiveness

  • America’s Future Foundation

  • Cato Institute – George Soros’ Open Society Foundations is a funder of Cato Institute, and both are members of the State Policy Network.

  • Center to Protect Patients Rights

  • Christian Freedom International

  • Citizens for America

  • Club for Growth – CFR Member J. Kenneth Blackwell is one of the Directors with Director Frayda Levin Levy.  Frayda Levin Levy is also a Director of Americans for Prosperity.

  • Council for National Policy

Secure Arkansas has addressed this Constitutional Convention topic several times and in special detail in December 2013.  Click here to read one of our many past articles; this one is entitled “Exposing the Convention of the States (COS) as an Article V Constitutional Convention”.

Representatives, PLEASE vote NO on HJR1001. It’s a bad bill that could lead to our current Constitution being replaced.  There is absolutely, positively NO WAY that a new Constitutional Convention could be controlled – no matter how many restrictions are set prior to the convention – because a convention can write its own rules!

Secure Arkansas supporters:  call and email these Representatives as early as possible! This comes up in committee at 11:00 a.m. Monday morning!
