This is what Sandra Young MD sent as a follow-up letter regarding water fluoridation to the Arkansas State Board of Health. Once again, in case anyone missed it, you may watch the 8-minute YouTube video by clicking here.

7/27/2015
Thank you all for letting me speak spontaneously at the Arkansas State Board of Health meeting on 7/23/2015. I had not expected to be given a chance to address you, and I appreciate it very much.
There were several statements that I made at that meeting that are not established facts, but rather my suspicions based on the biochemistry of fluoride.
I said that aluminum tetrafluoride AlF4- is the cause of chronic fatigue. That has not been proven, but it has been proven that ATP [Adenosine Triphosphate] can have the final phosphate on its structure become AlF4-. It is my deduction that that is probably one of the, if not THE, cause of chronic fatigue.
It has not been proven that fluoride is the cause of fibromyalgia, but it is my suspicion—either as calcium fluoride or aluminum fluoride or both.
There are numerous papers establishing a link of aluminum with Alzheimer’s. My reason for thinking that fluoride is implicated is related to the fact that AlF4- can cross the blood-brain barrier. Also, researchers at Yale found an increase of STEP61 in the brains of mice. When that enzyme was blocked, their memory returned. STEP stands for striatal-enriched protein tyrosine phosphatase. AlF4- is a phosphate mimic. The title of one article is Inhibitor of the Tyrosine Phosphatase STEP Reverses Cognitive Deficits in a Mouse Model of Alzheimer’s Disease, available online at http://journals.plos.org/
Much more research on fluoride can be found at www.fluoridealert.org/
Many of the drugs that have been recalled were fluoridated drugs: Baycol, Floxin, fenfluramine, Propulsid, more. These all had cardiac effects, some with neurological side-effects.
Another factor that I did not mention is that fluoride binds with all non-alkali metal ions. As such, it interferes with enzymes that have metals at their active site (frequently magnesium, zinc, and copper). It can also bind with other metals that are toxic to the body, such as lead and beryllium, and facilitate their uptake into tissues where they might not otherwise go.
Fluoride also breaks hydrogen bonds, which are important in the structure and function of proteins, DNA, and RNA. Hydrogen bonds give a stable shape to the molecule. In biochemistry, shape and function are intimately connected.
On average, only 50% of the fluoride we ingest each day is excreted through the kidneys, and even less in those with renal disease. The remainder accumulates in our body, mostly in our bones, teeth, pineal gland, and other calcifying tissues.
Two books that I highly recommend reading are The Case Against Fluoride by Paul Connett, PhD, James Beck MD, PhD, and H.S. Micklem, DPhil. Printed in 2010, this is a review of scientific articles published in peer-reviewed journals, written in layman’s terms. The other book is The Fluoride Deception written by Christopher Bryson. Bryson goes into the government and industry push for water fluoridation. He also has a chapter in there on fluoride disposal in Bauxite, AR. Both books have extensive documentation. Connett’s book has 80 pages of references, and Bryson’s has 111.
There are numerous YouTube interviews available with researchers on fluoride, some of whom are Phyllis Mullenix, Paul Connett, Christopher Bryson, Boyd Haley PhD, Dr. Dean Burk (who says that 20% of cancers today are a result of fluoride), Dr. J William Hirzy (scientist with the EPA—the scientists there were opposed to water fluoridation—includes his testimony before Congress). IAOMT also has speakers and videos on YouTube as well as at their website www.iaomt.org. David Kennedy, DDS has made several videos. One is titled Fluoridegate. At the opening, he shows a Chinese lady walking so stooped her head was at her pelvis level. She had been exposed to fluoride at 10ppm for 10 years. While that is a 3-5 times higher concentration than we are getting, over a longer period of time, our bodies accumulate that much fluoride. The lady was crying with each step. When they removed the fluoride, her pain went away (but not the skeletal deformities). He also shows a 5 year old Chinese boy with arthritis in his elbows so severe that he cannot fully extend his arm. I especially request that you go to the www.iaomt.org website and watch Phyllis Mullenix PhD present in more depth than I was able to cover the problems with fluoride and cell receptors. The video is titled Diagnosis and Treatment of Chronic Fluoride Poisoning: A Receptor Malfunction Disease.
I am asking the Arkansas Board of Health to please reconsider your endorsement and recommendation of mandatory water fluoridation in Arkansas. And please forward your recommendations to the Arkansas State Legislature. Act 197 needs to be repealed. This needs to be expedited as soon as possible for the health of all Arkansans.
As a side note, it is my opinion that you should not owe Delta Dental any payback monies. This was promoted to you with a deliberate distortion of the science. They, more than anyone, should have known all of this.
Sincerely,
Sandra Young MD

Here is the first paragraph from an article from The Lancet, a medical journal:
Neurobehavioural effects of developmental toxicity
Neurodevelopmental disabilities, including autism, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, dyslexia, and other cognitive impairments are being caused by industrial chemicals. The chemicals causing the disabilities are lead, methylmercury, polychlorinated biphenyls, arsenic and toluene. Since 2006, six additional developmental neurotoxicants were added to the list, and they are manganese, fluoride, chlorpyrifos, dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethan
Secure Arkansas will be sending out some other short clips of the July 23, 2015 meeting shortly. The other business at the ADH Board meeting was Jeff Stone, Director – Engineering Section, giving a progress report on water districts fluoridating their water.
Stay tuned!
