SJR 7 & SJR 9 will be heard in the Senate Committee on State Agencies and Governmental Affairs on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.
Senator Jason Rapert wants to “amend” our U.S. Constitution by applying for an Article V Amendments convention. This has never been done before except in 1787 when the Articles of Confederation were scrapped and replaced with the U.S. Constitution.
There are two ways to propose Amendments to the U.S. Constitution:
- Congress proposes them and sends them to the States for ratification or rejection; or
- When 2/3 of the States apply for it, Congress calls a convention.
All our 27 existing amendments were proposed under the first method: Congress proposed them. We have never had a convention under Article V.
So, what are Senator Rapert’s deceptive excuses for unnecessarily amending the founding document of our country? “Right To Life and Marriage” He’s using Ad Misericordiam — the fallacy of appealing to one’s emotions — and an appeal to morality and conscience in order to justify his selfish motives and globalist agenda. (Someone who does that is typically considered a CON MAN!) Christians should be outraged! No matter what moral excuse Senator Rapert gives, we cannot allow it as a reason for a radical overhaul of our U.S. Constitution, one of the most important documents of all time! Having or applying for an Article V convention is sitting us up for a pitfall! The very idea that our founding document is in need of a “review” and needs “amendments” has gripped some so-called Christian conservatives/progressives because of propaganda and lies.
We need to understand that, under an Article V Amendments Convention (Con-Con), our Constitution would be opened up for “changes” from both sides, the radical left and right, to litigate their legal grievances with the system at this convention. Other “amendments” will be brought up, and we will go into a constitutional crisis if this diabolical platform is created. Can’t you see the writing on the wall, folks? This plan has been in the works for quite a while…
Progressive psychopath billionaire George Soros and the global elitists require a new Constitution in order to push their radical agenda to transform the United States from a sovereign nation into a member state of the North American Union (NAU). In order to accomplish this, they need an Article V Amendments Convention because our U.S. Constitution is currently blocking them! Any excuse can be used to apply/have an Article V Amendments Convention, especially the line ” to rein in the federal government.”
A Florida attorney and former Attorney General from Tuscaloosa has this to say:
“Americans don’t know that delegates to an Article V convention have “PLENIPOTENTIARY POWERS” and thus have the power (recognized in the 2nd paragraph of our Declaration of Independence) to throw off our present Constitution and establish a new one with a new (and easier) mode of ratification.”
“Americans don’t know that in Federalist Paper No. 40 (15th para), James Madison invoked this clause in the Declaration of Independence as justification for what they did at the federal convention of 1787: Instead of proposing Amendments to the Articles of Confederation (as they had been instructed to do), they wrote an entirely new Constitution which created a new government.”
But these days, things are not like they were during the founding of our country… The political climate is very different now. We don’t have brave, stalwart George Washington as Chair of the Constitutional Convention. We have money-hungry political leaders and double-minded lobbyists involved in back-room deals and bribes… legislators and corporations selling out We the People every day.
Are you going to stand by and let our Constitutional government be destroyed and replaced with global government? Will you be deceived and mentally conditioned by this false prophet Senator Rapert, a wolf in sheep’s clothing, as he cries, “Peace, peace! There is nothing to worry about people! We need an Article V Convention! This convention can be limited and it is safe!” But his statements are simply NOT true! They’re lies! You ARE being misled, good people. Senator Rapert is saying “Peace, peace” when there is no peace! Now is the time for you do your own research. We have all been fooled at one time or another.
Beware of the Hidden Agenda in an Article V Amendment Convention/Constitutional Convention.
Don’t be a Part of an Article V deception that will destroy the U.S. Constitution!
The States have no power over an Article V Convention. All they can do is “apply to Congress to ‘call’ a convention” or ratify proposed amendments — if Congress proposes them and sends them to the States for ratification or rejection. The River Valley & Ozark publican has an article “Educator, police officer patent door-locking device” published Dec. 18, 2014 that lists Jason Rapert. This is very interesting information of which you may not be aware:
“In addition to inventors Hogan and Scroggin, partners in the company ULockit Security include State Sen. Jason Rapert, R-Conway; attorney Ted Thomas of Conway; and Faulkner County Justice of the Peace Randy Higgins of Greenbrier, a former reserve deputy. Hogan said they were chosen because of their knowledge, as well as their drive.
Rapert said Hogan and Scroggin approached him asking about investing in the device. Rapert’s wife, Laurie, is a former public schoolteacher and now home-schools the couple’s children. However, the students meet together in cooperative academies, he said.
He said not only would the device be valuable for schools, it could be used in any place where large gatherings are held and weapons aren’t allowed, such as churches. Rapert said he sees the device as an option for homeowners, too.
When he saw the invention, “I thought of the paperclip,” Rapert said. “You look at the device and say, ‘Wow, why didn’t I think of this?’”

- The ONLY THING that State Legislators can do under an Article V Amendments Convention is APPLY TO CONGRESS for a convention. After that, the U.S. Congress calls all the shots. There are NO LIMITS on a Constitutional Convention’s purpose, procedure, agenda, election of delegates, OR the subject matter! (See Article I, §8, clause 17 of the U.S. Constitution.) If you don’t believe this is true, please provide the supporting documents to defend your position.
