Why An Article V Convention is Dangerous:
Representative Brown, the delegates to an Article V convention cannot be controlled by the state law that you are proposing in HB 1570! The Delegates are the Sovereign Representatives of the People and will have the right to alter OR abolish our current form of Government [U. S. Constitution]. (Declaration of Independence, 2nd paragraph.) Delegates to a convention today can make their proceedings secret, just same as the delegates to the federal convention of 1787! Also, could the delegates vote by a secret ballot?
Rep. Karilyn Brown: Can you tell us from where HB 1570 came and who wrote it? You can forget the question because we just located the source of this anti-constitutional piece of legislation. HB 1570 came from American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC). Click here for the model legislation from ALEC. ALEC is heavily involved in written model legislation for all states for the good of large corporations and their bottom line. ALEC is NOT conservative. American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) is only concerned with the bottom line of the corporations that fund them and their Anti-American Model Legislation
Danger, Rep. Brown: There is nothing that can stop Delegates from proposing a THIRD constitution, if a convention is called. The first two were:
Rep. Brown, are you aware: There are already New Constitutions written, ready and waiting for the time when a Constitutional Convention is finally called. Here are at least three new constitutions from the left.
Rep. Brown: Will HB 1570 prohibit delegates from approving, proposing, OR adopting a new constitution?
Attention Rep. Brown: Article V does NOT restrict Delegates to merely "proposing amendments": Delegates are invested with that inherent pre-existing sovereign right, recognized in our Declaration, to abolish our existing Form of government (our U.S. Constitution) and propose a new Constitution. If we risk having a convention today, there is nothing to stop delegates from proposing a new Constitution with its own totally new method of ratification. Representative, stop and think about that, please!
Rep. Brown, you have got some explaining to do before you run HB 1570 in the morning!
Today people don’t THINK for themselves. They just follow what the so-called experts tell them, and then repeat it as if they know all about it. (Propaganda and cultural conditioning are powerful…)
Delegates to an Article V convention have “Plenipotentiary Powers” and can do anything they want. So-called “faithful delegate” laws are a joke and hold no water.
And if the states, in this case Arkansas, already know what amendments they want, they should tell their State congressional delegations to propose them in Congress. Don’t put our Constitution and our national sovereignty at risk by applying for an Article V convention! Stand up for the Constitution!
Action for tonight for our readers: You need to contact this representative personally! She will move forward with this legislation unless you pick up the phone or send her an email soon! Time is ticking away for the 2017 session and the promoters for a convention are desperate!
Tell her to “Pull the bill”!
Action must be taken quickly! Also call and email the members of this committee and tell them to VOTE NO on HB 1570.
