*** VOTE NO on SJR 2, SJR 7, and SJR 9 ***

All of these are a means for creating a convention.

Immediate Attention!  The malevolent Con-Con Resolutions are back!  SJR 7 and SJR 9  bySenator Jason Rapert about which we’ve been warning you will be voted on by House State Agencies and Governmental Affairs this Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 10:00 am.

AND SJR 2 by Senator Gary Stubblefield will be voted on by Senate State Agencies and Governmental Affairs on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.

Contact information for the committee members is listed further down in this article.
Be sure to NOTE THE ACTION ITEMS in bold yellow highlighted font in this email.

You need to understand how BAD things are down at the Arkansas State Capitol. The state legislature has spun out of control… The majority of all legislation is written by out-of-state NGO’s. This is like the Mafia has taken over and is running our state government, and we no longer have Representative government. From what we’ve seen, legislators don’t represent We the People anymore — they represent national and international corporations as well as Non-Governmental Organizations.

An Article_V amendment – regardless of the subject matter – is dangerous and will fundamentally destroy America. All Article V legislation is a smoke screen to apply for a Convention. Even though you may agree with the subject matter which the Article V bills address, things won’t turn out the way you think. Legislators are also using the argument that the federal government is out of control – in order to convince others that an Article V convention or balanced budget amendment is needed… BUT their argument is flawed. We have warned and warned you about what is in the works if a convention is called by Congress. Sadly, there are already many groups from both the Left and Right that want an Article V Amendment convention.

Are you willing to risk our U.S. Constitution, the founding document of our country? Are you willing to take that chance?

The only power that is granted to state legislatures regarding an Article V convention is to apply to Congress to call for a convention. See Article V. The states do not make the rules.  After the 34 states apply for an Article V Convention, then Congress takes over and will make all laws necessary and proper for calling, organizing, and setting up a convention (Con Con) per

Article_1,_Section_8,_Clause 18 (last clause) of the U.S. Constitution.

In case you weren’t aware, Con Con bills have done terribly across the country, and as of this month, Convention of States’-type Article V applications for conventions are failing in many states!

This is good news!  Some of the states are doing the right thing and opposing Article V convention (Con Con) legislation.

Please help with Arkansas…

WHAT CAN YOU DO ABOUT SJR 7 and SJR 9?  Contact the members of the House Committee on State Agencies and Governmental Affairs and tell them to VOTE NO on SJR 7 and SJR 9 because they would radically transform our constitution and fundamentally change our country.  This is NOT about “marriage” or “right to life” — it’s about a convention which we DO NOT need or want.

Secure Arkansas suggests that if people who email legislators are asked where they live, they can respond:

"Although I do not reside in your district, neither do the big name organizers of this Convention effort, and yet, the legislators appear to listen to what they have to say. Also, your vote will affect me and all of our posterity, so please do not disregard my opinion. I am one of "We the People" who does not want to change our Constitution. Thank you."

ONE LAST IMPORTANT NOTE:  Secure Arkansas / Secure The Republic is in need of funds.  If you can contribute, please do so.  This will greatly help us to keep everyone informed on important issues, as we've done since 2008.

As you know, we've rarely asked for contributions over the years… and only when we are severely low.  NO ONE in our organization is paid.
