The Debacle of the Arkansas Private Option / Medicaid Expansion

We Need More Transparency in Arkansas Government  In Arkansas, who rules?  The people or ALEC corporations?  ALEC stands for American Legislative Exchange Council, an organization that writes legislation for state and federal legislators.  Funded by corporations, ALEC corporate lobbyists and state legislators hold secret ALEC meetings and vote as equals on ‘model bills’.  Corporations fund almost […]

HIGH ALERT: American Legislative Exchange Council and Medicaid Expansion in Arkansas

It appears that the Republican legislators are getting their marching orders from ALEC (American Legislative Exchange Council).  See here.  This is taken directly from their model legislation:    Model Policy WHEREAS, Only {insert number} states have governors and legislatures in agreement to optionally expand Medicaid up to all persons earning up to one hundred thirty-eight percent (138%) of the […]

There’s No Free Lunch

The Private Option, an alternative to expanding Medicaid in Arkansas, failed to pass in the House on Tuesday.  Under the Private Option, federal Medicaid funds are used to purchase private insurance for thousands of residents who are below 138% of the federal poverty level, approximately $32,000 a year for a family of four. So if […]

Arkansas SB 709 provides a back door to Obamacare

The back door to Obamacare is highlighted inRED in SB 709 shown below. The part to look at in SB 709 comes after UNLESS.

Arkansas SB 709 is a bad piece of legislation. SB709 will not stop Obamacare coming into Arkansas, but provides a back door access to providing Obamacare. State Sovereignty and the 10th Amendment MUST be enforced by our elected officials. We must remember that the states are the Employer and the Federal Government is the Employee. State Nullification of Obamacare is the only method that can be used. The nullification process has been included below.

ALEC is involved with the Arkansas Healthcare Bill

The statement below comes from Christie Herrera of ALEC.

“Senate Bill 709 not only strengthens the legislature’s policymaking authority when it comes to health reform decisions, but it also promotes transparency on the costs of the federal healthcare law on individuals and the state of Arkansas.”

Any politician involved with ALEC (American Legislative Exchange Council) has in all likelihood sold out to big business. In exchange for helping ALEC to push their model legislation through their states, they are paid off with large campaign donations from ALEC members. All these payoffs can be verified by checking out elected officials financial filings with the Secretary of State. It was ALEC that was behind SJR1, Article V Amendment Convention bill. Thank goodness SJR1 was killed in committee.
